A Song for John-- MUSIC VIDEO

This is the ending of my movie about John Flannery "Man of Motion". I wrote this little song for the movie. It was performed by Laurel Brauns (vocal) Wayne Newcome (guitar) Patrick Pearsall (bass) Mark Ransom (back up vocals). Mark also produced the song for me. I am so grateful to all these folks for sharing their talent with me. It really helped bring my film together.

my contribution to PUSH!

"Day and Night"
Acrylic Paint, Metallic Ink and Grip Tape on Skateboard.

The top of this skateboard (left) has grip tape incorporated as part of the design so potentially the board could be used!

This is the skateboard I did for the PUSH fundraiser on Dec. 12th. There will be about 50 different skateboards auctioned off to raise money for the new Division Street Skate Park. Check out www.divisionstreetskatepark.org for more information on the event and how to bid on a skateboard.

When I was given this deck to paint as part of this fundraiser, the design already on the deck made me a little sad. It was of 2 naked women in high heels, bending down and bowing at a graffiti style name which they were chained too. Let me just highlight that for you-- naked women in high heels chained and bowing down. Okay-- just want to make sure you caught that. SO-- I decided to make a girly...a PROUD, Girly skateboard with the idea that perhaps this little skateboard might fall in the hands of a little girl who believes it is true...She is free and she can skate with peace and joy. And perhaps she will grow out of the "all things girly" phase most women go through in some way, and she will be an amazing skateboarder who glides and gleams and flows with style so as to cause neck turning where she goes. And yes, she sees those folks, gazing upon her freedom and grace and beauty. And yeah, she knows she skates with inspiration, but the thing is, she would skate that way, even if you weren't lookin'. And no, you can't put chains on HER.

So, if you know that little girl, maybe you should buy this skateboard for her while helping pay for the skate park where she can use it.
